Last weekend Aaron was able to come in town on his way from Georgia to Virginia. We had SO much fun! He got here at around 1 am Friday morning. Friday during the day we went to the state fair. it was my first time, how crazy is that?! Gabe got to ride 3 rides (for $15... is that not ridiculous?!) and we got to eat lots of different foods. I had an elephant year (kindof a dissapointment) and fried pickles, Aaron had a deep fried Snickers bar, mom tried chocolate covered bacon (NASTY), and dad got ice cream. Gabe's favorite part was probably petting the little goats and piggies! We only stayed for a few hours because it started to rain :(
Saturday we relaxed in the morning and then went to Exploration Acres. It is a huge corn maze not far from our house. We had so much fun there. Aaron destroyed the maze and we hit all the checkpoints, thanks to his Army land navigation skills. We got lots of discounts and coupons for different restaurants. Once we finished, we did the rubber ducky races with old well pumps, a corn cannon (which I was AWFUL at), and Aaron took Gabe on a tricycle ride- ha ha!! By the time we finished that, my cousin and her kids were at our house so we headed back to meet them. They got Gabe the cutest Little People farm toy that he loves. We then went out to Red Seven, a new restaurant downtown, with my parents and Brian. They had the best salads and rolls, yum. Everyone loved their meal except me ;) I saw Torey's parents there which was so funny. After, my parents took Gabe back to bed (it was late) and Brian, Aaron, and I stayed downtown for the Jazz & Blues festival. We saw a couple of really good bands and played farkle hahah, so fun.
Sundy was Gabe's BIG birthday bash! Even though his birthday isn't until September 18, we had his party early so Aaron could be there. We had lots of family from both sides over. It was so fun. Good food, laughs, yard games, etc. Gabe was spoiled rotten with lots of new toys and clothes. He LOVED his chocolate cupcake and we had fun watching him devour it :) He started out pretty polite and then wound up smashing it everywhere and drooling blue goo all over himself. After everyone left my family had a water balloon fight which was real fun. Definitely a weekend to remember :)
