Memorial Day 2009

Gabe and I spent Memorial Day in Georgia with Aaron. We flew out early Saturday morning and came back Tuesday. We had so much fun!

The trip started out a little rough when Gabe didn't recognize Aaron :( He screamed every, single time Aaron would look at him. It was terrible! After a while, he warmed up and we got on with our day. We headed to Taco Bell since G and I were starving, then drove to base and checked out this really neat campground on the Chattahoochee River. We swung by the new infantry museum near base and then we got smoothies :), looked some shops, found a park, and enjoyed the rest of the day in our room- watching movies, letting Gabe catch up on sleep, playing "would your rather?", etc. It was sooo nice to just be together!







Sunday we had a pretty low-key day. We played in the pool in the afternoon and then had dinner with Aaron's roommate, Micah, and his girlfriend Michelle. It was fun! We played cards with them after, but it didn't last too long since G was ready for bed and was having a meltdown.





Monday was my favorite day... we took Gabe to a place similar to Mr. Biggs in Colorado Springs. It had indoor mini-golf, an arcade, go-karts, etc. It also had a kid's play area so we took Gabe. He had a lot of fun jumping in the jump house, climbing thru tunnels, etc. Aaron and I also played in the arcade and it was awesome! Once we finished there, we rented Mall Cop to watch while Gabe napped. We went to dinner at this awesome little restaurant called Cheddar's. We saw 1/2 of Aaron's platoon there, which was cool and fun to meet the guys that he is living with!






Tuesday we went to a park on base, played for a while, and then dropped Aaron off at noon. He is the XO (commander) of his unit in the field this week so he is going to be busy, not to mention SOAKED in rain all week!





We had the BEST trip and are feeling so refreshed from some good, quality time together :) I love my family!
